Construction of Gateway Field, future home of Arizona Academy of Youth Soccer Renegades has broken ground. On Thursday, April 22nd, construction officially commenced with the generous help from Mike Young, President of Young Farm Leveling & Dirt Work and Ed Johnson, President of Sierra Spring Contracting. Both companies took time from their extremely busy schedules to fit The Academy in and donated their time, heavy equipment and equipment operators to officially help Arizona Academy of Youth Soccer begin the process of preparing our Home Field for the
upcoming soccer season.
The construction process began with the movement of large amounts of earth to fill in a large water retention area approximately the total length of the field. Field preparation continued with cultivation of the entire area of the playing field to remove large amounts of residual concrete and large stones from past housing construction of the local area. It appears as if Gateway Field was a previous dumping ground for construction crew’s years ago. Once satisfied with field groundwork, leveling of the field was completed on Friday, April 23rd wrapping up the first major portion of construction of Gateway Field.
A special recognition goes to Claude Dossie and John Branson, equipment operators who put their skills to the test in preparing the playing field while battling strenuous city code restrictions for noise and dust. Without the help of these generous individual’s, Gateway Field would not have been considered for construction for the upcoming 2010-2011 season but a mere afterthought until the following soccer season.
The Renegades Staff and all the boys and girls on our AAYS Academy and Development teams would like to send their sincerest gratitude to the entire staff at Mike Young Farm Leveling & Dirt Work and Sierra Springs Contracting for their tremendous contribution and support of Arizona Academy of Youth Soccer.
Arizona Academy of Youth Soccer offers players at ALL levels of play an opportunity to learn or improve on their skills. Whether your a recreational player or club player, you will be under the instruction of a National Licensed Coach. You will be learning the technical and tactical skills to help you progress to a higher level of play.
One of our main goals is to keep it affordable for all families, especially in these tough economical times we are having right now. We are committed to keeping a great quality of instruction/coaching for our players while paying much less than most programs. In other words, there are NO sacrifices being made. The quality of training will stay at a high standard.
As a matter of fact, we will offer speed and conditioning training sessions to our Academy Players which many programs don’t. We will be bringing in college coaches and National Team players so our players will get exposure from the highest level of soccer….which again most programs don’t offer.
For our Developmental program (recreational) we will offer our volunteer recreational coaches a library of books, videos and lesson plans to help them become more educated in soccer. They will take official USSF coaching courses so they can get a state recognized license.
We will offer so many bonuses but the most important part of this program:
Our coaching and volunteer staff is doing all of this for “the love of the game and the players.”
